I am also a partner to John Steed I worked on two books on The Avengers and was able to work with the man himself, Patrick Macnee to bring the classic Avengers to the U.S. in the 80's

Steed and Mrs. Peel Graphic Novels

My Patrick Macnee Memories:
Like any Avengers fans I was sadden by the passing of Patrick Macnee who define the English Gentleman spy John Steed. For me the Anvengers and Patrick Macneee has had a special place in my life. It started in 1987 I was asked by a " The Professionals" fan club this show was produced`Avengers producer Albert Fennel and Avergers writer Brian Clements. If I could get Dave Rogers who wrote about "The Professionals" he was also` the author of "The Avengers" book. He and I alked about him bringing the recetly founded early Avengers episode "The Frightners" featuring Ian Henry. Then we talked about doinga convention that feature  all of the thought "lost" Avengers episodes that featured Honor Blackman and having Parick Macnee the main guest. Unfotunatly Patrick could not come due to a family illness. But the fans got to see the lost Avengers episode before they where broadcast on A&E.

Some years later I got to meet Patrick Macnee durning his book tour in Cnicago  of his autobiography "Blind in One Ear" [ If you can find a copy buy it it's a great read] We finally got to talk and he wanted to come to the convention but family business stop him. He also told me heard about the "Avengers" lost episodes marthon we had and how the fans loved the old shows that helped get the "Avengers" back on TV. Then he ask what part what part of the book I liked. I liked the part about his mother Thea ahe was such a`free spirit like  "Auntie Mame". All to soon it was time to say goodbye. but I wil always think of the great time I had with Patrick Macnee. So RIP Patrck the world has lost a true man of style.

Danger Man/The Prisoner

Secret agent John Drake and Prisoner Number Six

Prisoner fans frequently debate whether John Drake of Danger Man and Number Six in The Prisoner are the same person. Like John Drake, Number Six is evidently a secret agent, but one who has resigned from his job. Moreover, in the surreal Prisoner episode "The Girl Who Was Death", Number Six meets "Potter", John Drake's Danger Man contact. Christopher Benjamin portrayed the character in both series. As has been previously stated, "The Girl Who Was Death" was an adaptation of an unused Danger Man script. As well as guest-starring in this show, Paul Eddington played another spy and No.6's former colleague, Cobb, in the opening episode of the latter show.

The title is a popular colloquialism for spies, and the series follows the work of a group of MI5 officers based at the service's Thames House headquarters, in a highly secure suite of offices known as The Grid. It is notable for both its high production value, and its use of popular guest actors. In the United States, the show is broadcast under the title MI-5. In Canada, the programme originally aired as MI5 but now airs on BBC Canada as Spooks.

British Detectives

John Luther

is a Detective Chief Inspector (DCI) working for the Serious Crime Unit in series one, and the new Serious and Serial Crime Unit in series two and three. A dedicated police officer, Luther is obsessive, possessed, and sometimes violent. However, Luther has paid a heavy price for his dedication; he has never been able to prevent himself from being consumed by the darkness of the crimes with which he deals.

Inspector Morse

Inspector Endeavour Morse is a fictional character in the eponymous series of detective novels by British author Colin Dexter. On television, he appears in the 33-episode 1987–2000 drama series Inspector Morse, in which John Thaw played the character. Morse originally is described as a senior CID (Criminal Investigation Department) officer with the Thames Valley Police force in Oxford, England. With a Jaguar car (a Lancia in the early novels), a thirst for English real ale and a penchant for music  poetry, art, classics, classic cars, and cryptic crossword puzzles, Morse presents a likeable persona, despite his sullen temperament.

Inspector Lewis

Lewis is a British television detective drama produced for ITV. A spin-off from Inspector Morse, like that series it is set in Oxford. Kevin Whately reprises his character Robert "Robbie" Lewis, who was Morse's sergeant in the original series. Lewis has now been promoted to detective inspector and is assisted by DS James Hathaway, portrayed by Laurence Fox, who is also promoted to Inspector in the eighth series airing in 2014.

Midsomer Murders

Based on the crime-novel series by author Caroline Graham, "Midsomer Murders" follows the efforts of Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby to solve crimes that occur in the wealthy, isolated English county of Midsomer, a picturesque and peaceful place on the outside but one filled with amoral and snobbish eccentrics with all kinds of vices. His latest assistant is Detective Sergeant Ben Jones, and other recurring characters include Barnaby's wife, Joyce, their daughter, Cully, and Dr. George Bullard, the resident pathologist who seems to instantly know how each murder took place.

Lovejoy

The series concerns the adventures of the eponymous Lovejoy, played by Ian McShane, a likeable but roguish antiques dealer based in East Anglia. Within the trade, he has a reputation as a "divvie", a person with almost supernatural powers for recognising exceptional items as well as distinguishing genuine antiques from clever fakes or forgeries.

My Lovejoy Memories:My Interview with Chris Jury
In 1992 I had the pleasure of intervewing Chris Jury the actor who played Eric Catchpole on the series Lovejoy. He was one of the guest of the Doctor Who convention I was at promoting the Doctor Who arcade game. I thought all i was going to do was talk about the creation of the Doctor Who arcade game. Then I was ask to interview some of the guest that included Red Dwarf stars Craig Charles " Dave Lister" and Robert Llewellyn "Kryten". I was not prepared to interview Chris since I did not know that much about the series Lovejoy or his character Eric Catchpole.

Since the interview was the next day I when home and did something that people do all the time now I binge watched ten episodes of Lovejoy. I was ready I thought to interview Chris Jury. So the next day I started to ask Eric about the series and if he was into antiques and pop culture like his character. He looked at me and said "No, He said that he was only like his character Eric in that he knew nothing and that he had to be taught about some of the real antiques they had on the show and some of the locations at real manor houses and castles that where if they broke something they would be charged.

After that I did not want to ask questions about collecting since I was once an antique dealer. So now I am stuck on what to ask him instead I ask him was he surprised about how popular Lovejoy was here in the U. S. Like many British actors I met over the years we was suprised that Lovejoy was so popular in the States and that been invited to  British theme conventions in the U.S.

Then he got back to how he is like his character Eric Catchpole he like going to the pub gaving a drink and hanging out with his friends. Then he ask me if i ever been to the U.K. Told I have been there several time. He say then you know about going to a pub and having a good time. Then he reached for the beer next to him a gave a toast he was then joined by Craig Charles who also had a beer. From that point on there was no interview just two mates giving a good time. Looking back on my interview with Chris Jury it was one of the best times I ever had "Cheers"

Miss Marple

Agatha Christie's Marple (or simply Marple) is a British ITV television series based on the books and short stories by British crime novelist Agatha Christie. The title character was played many actress including  Geraldine McEwan, Julia McKenzie, Joan Hickson, Angela Lansbury and my favorite from the movies Margaret Rutherford.

Poirot

This whodunit series based on Agatha Christie's crime novels and short stories, is named after its star sleuth, Hercule Poirot, a famous former Belgian policeman, who settled for good in London after World War 1, soon so famous as an infallible private detective that he becomes a society figure in his own right. Monty Python (or "The Pythons") is the collective name of the creators and stars of Monty Python's Flying Circus, a British television comedy sketch show conceived, written, and performed by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. It first aired on October 5, 1969 and eventually comprised 45 episodes over 4 series. Benny Hill

The Benny Hill Show features Benny Hill in various short comedy sketches and occasional, extravagant musical performances by artists of the time. Hill appears in many different costumes and portrays a vast array of characters.Slapstick, burlesque and double entendres are his hallmarks. A group of critics accused the show of sexism, but Hill said that female characters kept their dignity while the men who chase them were portrayed as buffoons.

Red Dwarf

Downton Abbey

This British drama series follows the lives of the Crawley family and its servants in the family's classic Georgian country house. The series begins with the 1912 sinking of the Titanic, which leaves Downton Abbey's future in jeopardy, since the presumptive heirs of Robert, Earl of Grantham -- his cousin James, and James' son, Patrick -- die in the catastrophe, leaving the family without a male offspring to take over Downton when the current lord dies. The point is important since Lord Grantham's children are daughters -- Ladies Mary, Edith and Sybil, but the facets of their lives and of those of the below-stairs staff -- also a highly regimented world -- have fascinating story lines.

Call the Midwife

The plot follows newly qualified midwife Jenny Lee and the work of midwives and the nuns of Nonnatus House, a nursing convent, part of an Anglican religious order, coping with the medical problems in the deprived Poplar district of London's desperately poor East End in the 1950s. The Sisters and midwives carry out many nursing duties across the community. However, with between 80 and 100 babies being born each month in Poplar alone, the primary work is to help bring safe childbirth to women in the area and to look after their countless newborns.

Jane Austen Dramas

The author Jane Austen, as well as her works, have been represented in popular culture in a variety of forms.

Jane Austen (16 December 1775 – 18 July 1817) was an English novelist whose social commentary and masterly use of both free indirect speech and irony eventually made her one of the most influential and honoured novelists in English literature. In popular culture, Austen's novels and her personal life have been adapted into book illustration (starting in 1833), dramatizations (starting in 1895), Hollywood film (starting in 1940), television (starting in 1938), and professional theatre (starting in 1901), with adaptations varying greatly in their faithfulness to the original.

Upstairs Downstairs

Upstairs, Downstairs is a British television drama series originally produced by London Weekend Television and revived by the BBC. It ran on ITV in 68 episodes divided into five series from 1971 to 1975. Set in a large townhouse in Edwardian, First World War and interwar Belgravia in London, the series depicts the lives of the servants "downstairs" and their masters—the family "upstairs". Great events feature prominently in the episodes but minor or gradual changes are also noted. The series stands as a document of the social and technological changes that occurred between 1903 and 1930.
